TEST'S PURPOSE

- FSH testing helps identify causes of infertility, low sperm count, and detects testicular abnormalities.
- LH testing assists in assessing the ability to stimulate testosterone production.
- Prolactin testing aids in determining the causes of low libido and/or erectile dysfunction.
- Estradiol testing supports monitoring during infertility treatment.
- Testosterone testing is conducted alongside other tests to diagnose early or delayed puberty.
- SHBG testing supports the assessment of testosterone activity in the body.
- Free testosterone ratio testing, combined with total testosterone levels, aids in evaluating reproductive function in males.

PATIENT PREPARATION

- Samples should be collected at 7 a.m. when testosterone levels are at their highest.
- Discontinue use of medications that may affect hormone levels in the blood.
- Limit physical activity before sample collection.
