X-rays of the hand bones and fingers in straight, oblique or lateral views are commonly used to diagnose fractures or dislocations. X-rays of bones and joints are the fastest and easiest way for doctors to see and evaluate fractures, injuries and joint abnormalities.
Indications:
§ Diagnose fractures or dislocations.
§ Demonstrate the healing and stability of bone fragments after fracture treatment.
§ Guide orthopedic surgery, joint replacement.
§ Detect injuries, infections, arthritis, abnormal bone growth, and bone changes in metabolic conditions.
§ Assist in detecting and diagnosing bone cancer.
§ Identify the location of foreign objects in the surrounding soft tissues or bones.
Contraindications:
§ No absolute contraindications.
§ Pregnant women in the first trimester. Pregnant women in the second and third trimesters can be X-rayed if necessary.
§ Patients who cannot cooperate.
