De Sèze lumbar spine X-ray is an advanced technique that provides detailed images of the lumbar spine to assess and detect abnormalities or diseases.
Indications:
§ Lumbar spine trauma: fracture or dislocation of the vertebrae.
§ Lumbar spine pain: pain of unknown origin.
§ Lumbar spine degeneration: assess the degree of degeneration.
§ Metastatic lesions: detect and monitor metastatic lesions in the spine.
Contraindications:
§ Pregnant women: especially in the first 3 months.
§ Children: limit unless necessary.
§ People who cannot maintain the shooting position: due to pain or limited mobility.
Shooting procedure:
1. Preparation before shooting: The patient removes jewelry or metal objects from the body.
2. Shooting position:
- Lying: the patient lies on his back, legs slightly bent to tie spine close to the film, the central ray is perpendicular to the film at the midpoint connecting the 2 iliac crests 2cm, at the level of the L3-L4 vertebrae.
- Standing: the patient stands with his back against the film holder, the central ray is perpendicular to the film at the navel, at the level of the L3-L4 vertebrae.
3. Image assessment: the X-ray image must be clear, clearly showing the structural features of the spine.
Applications and benefits:
§ Accurate diagnosis: early and accurate detection of abnormalities, contributing significantly to the treatment and monitoring of the lumbar spine condition.
§ Comprehensive assessment: providing detailed images to help doctors make appropriate treatment decisions.
