Shoulder X-rays are commonly used to diagnose fractures or dislocations. This is the quickest and easiest way for doctors to view and evaluate fractures, injuries and abnormalities in the shoulder joint.
Indications for shoulder X-rays:
- Diagnose fractures or dislocations.
- Demonstrate the integrity and stability of bone fragments after fracture treatment.
- Guide orthopedic surgery, joint replacement.
- Look for lesions, infections, arthritis, abnormal bone growth and bone changes in metabolic conditions.
- Assist in the detection and diagnosis of bone cancer.
- Locate foreign bodies in the surrounding soft tissues or in the bone.
Contraindications for shoulder X-rays:
- There are no absolute contraindications.
- Women in the first 3 months of pregnancy. Women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy can be taken if necessary.
