Lumbar spine X-rays help evaluate diseases or injuries from different angles, providing more detailed images of the lumbar spine structure.
Indications:
Back pain of unknown origin
Spinal degeneration
Fracture of the lumbar vertebrae
Spondylolisthesis
Postoperative examination
Contraindications:
Pregnant women: especially in the first three months.
Children: limit unless necessary.
People who cannot maintain a still position due to pain or limited mobility.
Scanning procedure:
1. Preparation before the scan: the patient removes jewelry and metal objects from the body.
2. Perform the scan:
- Standing position: the patient stands facing the film holder, keeping the same position with the body at a 45-degree angle to the film holder.
- Lying position: the patient lies on the side on the scanning table, the body at a 45-degree angle to the face table.
3. Evaluation of results: X-ray images must be clear, not obscured by other structures, clearly showing the lumbar vertebrae and joint spaces.
Benefits:
More detailed images: help detect small lesions early, contributing significantly to diagnosis and treatment.
Multidimensional perspective: accurately assess the condition of the spine from many different angles.
