The Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) panel includes 13 antibodies belonging to the IgG immunoglobulin group: Scl-70, CENP A, CENP B, RP11, RP155, fibrillarin, NOR90, Th/To, PM-Scl100, PM-Scl75, Ku, PDGFR (platelet derived growth factor receptor), and Ro-52. Most of these 13 antigens are associated with components of the cell nucleus or nuclear structures.
This panel provides a comprehensive assessment of autoantibodies related to SSc, supporting early diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, prognosis, and differentiation between limited and diffuse forms of SSc. For example, anti–Scl-70 antibodies are more commonly found in the diffuse form, while anti–CENP-A and anti–CENP-B antibodies are more prevalent in the limited form.
It also aids in the differential diagnosis of SSc from other connective tissue diseases such as SLE, polymyositis, Sharp’s syndrome, and Sjögren’s syndrome.
