Newborn Screening Test – 5 Common Disorders **

**Patient:**
1. Newborns aged 24-72 hours (no more than 30 days after birth)
2. The best time to collect samples is 48 hours after birth
3. For babies who have their blood collected within the first 24 hours after birth, the sample should be collected again 1-2 weeks later
4. In case of premature, low birth weight babies: Collect samples when the baby is 37 weeks old, weighing ≥ 2500g

- The baby should lie in a position with the head higher than the feet. Use a towel soaked in warm water at about 41oC to warm the baby's heels for 3-5 minutes. When using alcohol-soaked gauze to disinfect, be careful to wipe off the alcohol to avoid alcohol from entering the blood and affecting the results
- The 5 blood cells must be evenly and fully soaked with blood

After cutoff: 1:50 PM 6 days later
