Thyroperoxidase Antibodies (TPO Ab), also known as Antimicrosomal Antibodies, are like the body’s little soldiers produced by the immune system that target Thyroperoxidase, a production from the thyroid. Testing for TPO antibodies can help in the diagnosis of conditions like with autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease and monitoring their progression.
