The Beta-2-Microglobulin [Urine] test measures the amount of Beta-2-Microglobulin protein in urine. Beta-2-Microglobulin is found on the surface of most cells in the body, especially lymphocytes. This test is used to assess kidney function, monitor patients with lymphoma or multiple myeloma. High levels of Beta-2-Microglobulin in urine may indicate kidney problems, blood cancer, or other medical conditions. The test results will be evaluated by a doctor in conjunction with other tests and examinations for diagnosis and treatment.
