AZF (Azoospermia Factor) is a gene located on the long arm of the Y chromosome at position Yq11. This region contains multiple genes involved in spermatogenesis. Deletions in the AZF region often lead to various consequences depending on the specific affected area, such as azoospermia (absence of sperm), oligospermia (low sperm count), severe oligospermia, spermatogenesis disorders, or sperm abnormalities.
