[2-Signature] Cell block

Cytological testing using the [2-Signature] Cell-block technique is analyzed and signed by at least two pathologists from the Diag Pathology Laboratory, including the senior consultant. This test involves preparing slides from cellular debris obtained by centrifuging aspirated fluids from body cavities, cerebrospinal fluid, or urine. This method aids in diagnosing cellular morphology and conducting advanced tests such as special staining, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology assays. The principle of the Cell-block technique is to centrifuge fluids to maximize the collection of cells in the sediment, process and embed them in paraffin blocks, allowing for sectioning and staining as with histopathological specimens. Compared to traditional smear cytology, this technique collects more cells on a single slide and allows multiple identical sections to be prepared. This enables the simultaneous application of different staining techniques or various immunohistochemical markers, facilitating more accurate diagnoses. It can also identify specific lesions (such as tuberculosis and fungal infections), the origins of primary tumors, and even classify histopathological subtypes.
