Diag DNA Panels

DNA testing is an analysis of DNA information in 23 pairs of chromosomes from two or more individuals to determine genetic relationships, thereby establishing kinship. This is currently the most accurate method for determining father-child, mother-child, and familial relationships.

Legal administrative DNA testing refers to DNA examinations for legal procedures such as inheritance, divorce, birth registration, visa applications, and naturalization. The test results must be conducted at licensed facilities such as Diag.

  • To establish the relationship between Father/Mother and Child.

  • To register the child's birth with the father's surname when the child is born before the parents have a marriage certificate.

  • To amend the child's birth certificate to include the father's name in cases where the mother previously registered the birth without the father's name.

  • To register the child under the mother's name and with the mother's surname.

  • To determine the relationship between Father/Mother and Child to carry out other legal procedures such as divorce, inheritance, naturalization, and visa applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Diag currently offers the DNA panels to determine family relationships on both the paternal and maternal sides, such as Grandfather-Grandchild, Grandmother-Grandchild, Uncle/Nephew, Cousins, etc.

No. To have legally valid test results, customers must choose the Paternity (Father|Mother) Birth Cert.

Diag's DNA Panels use the samples including: blood, amniotic fluid, oral mucosa, hair, nails, umbilical cord, sperm, toothbrush, chewing gum, cigarette filters.

The DNA test results are sent to customers within 5 - 6 days.

An adult parent (father or mother) is required to sign the documents regarding the guardianship of the child and to provide the records. For personal testing, adults can collect samples, including samples from children. The child does not need to be present for the test; the adult just needs to bring the child's biological sample (blood, saliva, hair roots, fingernails or toenails, umbilical cord). Adult patients must write all information themselves on all forms, which will be provided at Diag Laboratories. For personal use, it is not necessary to provide the child's official and full name, and the test can be conducted anonymously and privately.
