Varilrix (Belgium) is a live-attenuated varicella vaccine that contains the Oka-strain of the attenuated varicella-zoster virus.

Applicable only at: Medical Diag Center, 414-420 Cao Thang Street, Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Who should take this vaccination?

The target recipients for vaccination at Diag are adults.

Contraindications

  • Postpone vaccination with Varilrix vaccine for people with acute high fever.
  • The injection is contraindicated for people with severe humoral or cellular immunodeficiency such as:
    • Primary immunodeficiency or lymphocyte count less than 1,200/mm3.
    • People with cellular immunity deficiencies such as diphtheria, lymphoma, hematopoietic disorders, and HIV infection.
    • Patients on immunosuppressive treatment (including the use of high doses of corticosteroids).
  • Varilrix injection is contraindicated for people who are hypersensitive to neomycin or any other ingredient in the vaccine.
  • Do not vaccinate people who show signs of hypersensitivity after a previous dose of chickenpox vaccine. Not for use by pregnant women, it is best to complete the vaccination regimen 3 months before pregnancy.

To get vaccinated against varicella, vaccinated people should note that within the last 1 month, they have not received live attenuated vaccines, including measles, mumps, rubella, polio (oral), smallpox, chickenpox, BCG, typhoid (oral), yellow fever, rotavirus, and influenza.
